Attention May and August 2016 Degree Candidates ~ BSU requires all degree candidates to file a degree application with the appropriate office. The formal graduation review process begins with this step. May degree applications are for those students who will complete all degree requirements by May. August degree applications are for those students who will complete all degree requirements by August. All students who intend to complete their degree requirements by May or August must apply as follows: Undergraduate students: You must complete a degree application with the Registrar's Office, Boyden Hall, room 003. At the time you apply to for degree completion, your Degree Works Worksheet should show that all requirements are either Complete or In-progress. NOTE: The May 2016 degree application deadline was December 18, 2015; the recommended deadline for August degree completers is April 15, 2016. If you wish to receive your degree in May or August, you must apply as soon as possible! For those who wish to attend May Commencement, you may not receive tickets for Commencement unless you have applied for degree completion with the appropriate office and received preliminary approval from your academic department. August 2016 candidates who wish to attend May Commencement must be fully approved by Academic Affairs by April 15th. Graduate students: You must submit an approved degree application with the College of Graduate Studies, Maxwell Library, room 021. At the time you apply for degree completion, your Degree Works Worksheet should show that all requirements are either Complete or In-progress. NOTE: The recommended deadline for August Master’s and CAGS degree completers is June 1st. August 2016 completers who wish to attend May Commencement must be fully approved by the College of Graduate Studies by April 15th. For Students Who Plan to Complete Their Degree at the end of the Fall 2016 Semester~ Undergraduate students: December 2016 degree candidates may apply for degree completion starting April 25th, after they pre-register for final courses; and their Degree Works Worksheet shows that all requirements are either Complete or In-progress. Graduate students: Master’s and CAGS students who intend to complete their degree requirements by December 2016 must submit an approved application for degree completion with the College of Graduate Studies by October 1st.
